There is never a shortage of opinion on anything concerning local dancer Zodwa Wabantu. She got the Rainbow Nation talking again after a clip of her “steaming to get rid of evil spirits” was shared online.

The controversial blogger Musa Khawula shared the clip on his official X account and had many South Africans talking about the action in the video.

Some criticised the controversial dancer and mocked her as the evil she is trying to get rid of. So, to them, getting rid of the evil spirit is taking to getting rid of herself – and they wouldn’t mind.

South Africa has many dancers but none is as controversial as Zodwa Wabantu, who usually stands out for going pantless or wearing seriously revealing clothes.

Despite criticisms, she has managed to cultivate a robust fan base and continues to grow in the field she picked for herself. Not too long ago, she announced she was delving into the realm of traditional healers as a sangoma.

By her own account, her ancestors have been calling her into that realm for a while and she had finally hearkened to the call. Her steaming ritual illuminates the sangoma path she is looking into, and it is doubtful she cares about her critics now.
